Best Advertisement – Priced Product
2025
Overall comments.
There were sixteen entries in the award category Best Advertisement-Priced Product, with a couple of stand-out entries.
As with all effective print advertising use of images and a short, to the point headline is the key to initially grab the readers attention. Once they are “hooked” they will then consume more content in the advertisement, particularly if it is well set out and contains relevant information.
Pricing is another key factor in maintaining the readers interest in a product or service, whether it be a motor vehicle, retail product or other commodity/service.
Overall most entries included pricing in their advertisement but unfortunately some did not include an image or proper headline to help garner the readers initial interest.
Similarly the layout of some advertisements was a bit fragmented, while others overused reverse type which can be hard to read in newsprint format, and diminishes the desired impact of the advertisement.
Third.
Eyre Peninsula Advocate
This advertisement has a clean layout with plenty of white space, although the details in reverse type at the bottom can sometimes be hard to read in newsprint.
There is a call to action in the headline and the starbursts grab the reader’s attention.
Maybe one suggestion would be to highlight the savings on each vehicle advertised, to help reinforce the “thousands off …” at the top of the ad and so readers are clear what savings they can potentially make.
Second.
Yorke Peninsula Country Times
This advertisement met all the relevant criteria for the award and most importantly achieved the desired result for the client-more vehicle sales.
The advertisement has a clear headline with a call to action and a clean layout with lots of white space. The other important factor is the prices stand out.
Potentially this campaign can be repeated annually each Easter and at other key dates throughout the year.
Congratulations to the advertising sales executive and graphic designer who collaborated on this advertisement.
Winner.
The Courier (Mount Barker)
This advertisement also met all the relevant criteria for a successful advertisement, which was published 4 times over winter. Most importantly it met the clients expectations and they have already committed to next year.
The advertisement has a simple clear headline, clear images and clean layout with bold prices.
Any reader who had a potential interest in a water tank would notice this advertisement, which has all the relevant information including contact details for direct follow up with the client.
Congratulations to the advertising sales executive and graphic designer who collaborated on this advertisement.
