Best Advertisement – Priced Product

2024

Again, entries received for the best advertisement for the 2024 Country Press South

Australia were of the highest standard, all newspapers that entered this year are to

be congratulated especially the sales and graphic teams who worked diligently with

their clients.

Third Place:

Yorke Peninsula Country Times.

Minlaton Discounters.

The client has showcased several camping products in a half page advertisement

with terrific imagery together with pricing and the percentage savings on each item.

The headline was straight forward ‘Have a happy Christmas’ and stood out from the

page, also included in the advertisement was the bold call to action “Catalogue OUT

NOW”.

An added bonus for the York Peninsula Country Times was the sales person Sheila

Cranwell didn’t just sell the half page advertisement to the Minlaton Discounters for

the Have a happy camping Christmas, Sheila also continued the advertising with

further advertisements for Minlaton Discounter’s highlighting more discounted

products leading up to Christmas

Second Place:

The Murray Pioneer

Koch’s Foodland IGA.

Full page advertisement that certainly has all the information needed right from the

top, Shop online and CLICK AND COLLECT.

Straight away the reader/customer can see the Collection Options, days plus times

of when all the services are available, website addresses and if you have any

questions it directs you of where to go.

The layout of the advertisement is clean and easy to follow, not an overload of

products, the normal rule of thumb in the print advertising world is to place the store

name at the bottom of the advertisement, not so with this advertisement, having all

this information at the top including the business logo makes you want to continue

looking through the advertisement and the products that are on offer.

The advertisement and response from the public was outstanding so much so

Koch’s Foodworks IGA bought a 12-week campaign.

Well done to the team at The Murray Pioneer, Donna Mahoney and Kirsty Frahn.

The Winner:

The Leader

Ale Haus, Barossa Vally.

Brilliant, full page advertisement that immediately grabbed my attention not because

of the size of the advertisement, it was because of the imagery of the Smashed Avo

it is so clean and simple smack bang right in the middle, the use of open space is

clever, sometimes we can over do an advertisement because with have an overload

of information and products because of the size of the advertisement.

The heading is spot on stating that “Could this be Barossa’s best Smashed Avo?”

what it is saying… let the customer decide, acknowledging the Apex Bakery for the

Fresh Apex Bakery Sourdough Slab is clever, also pointing out to the different

ingredients, Balsamic Glaze, Micro Greens, Dukkah, Fetta together with the actual

size of the Smashed Avo, 30 centimetre ruler at the bottom of the advertisement is

totally left field and very smart.

To the sales and graphic team that designed and sold the “Could this be Barossa’s

Best Smashed Avo” concept congratulations.
