| The
area South of Adelaide has long been rich in rural
produce and its associated industries, with grazing,
dairy farming, horse breeding, regular livestock
markets, wineries and dairy factories providing
a sound economic base. Today, however the richest
source of the Fleurieu Peninsula is people. At the
last census the population stood at 29,791, a 25%
increase and the population is expected to continue
growing at its present rate well into this century.
Only an hour from Adelaide the Peninsula welcomes
city dwellers in their droves for weekends, school
holidays and vacations. The Times covers the main
towns including Victor Harbor, Port Elliot, Middleton,
Mt Compass, Goolwa, Strathalbyn, Cape Jervois, Rapid
Bay and Yankalilla. On The Coast is distributed
throughout McLaren Vale, McLaren Flat, Willunga,
Aldinga, Sellicks Beach and Maslin Beach.
