South Australia is a big state. All 984,377 square kilometres
of it. Just over 1.5 million people live in South Australia,
with about 400,000 - nearly 30 percent - of those based in
rural and regional areas.
This is SA’s economic “powerhouse”, with
the total value of agricultural production soaring above $3
billion. That’s big money in anyone’s language.
If you want to communicate with the very people who are helping
to create those billions, then you need country newspapers.
We know the people of country SA. They are our friends and
our readers.
There are 30 newspapers, stretching from Mount Gambier in
the South to Ceduna in the West - reaching 77 percent of the
rural and regional population.
Member newspapers also are based in Broken Hill, NSW and Katherine,
NT. That’s about 400,000 readers from a combined weekly
circulation of more than 170,000, every week! More than 170,000
copies - just about everyone! Of these, an incredible 94 percent
read their newspapers for local news and advertisements.
The Roy Morgan Audience Measurement survey: IMPACT 36 revealed
that regional newspapers make an impact on 7.3 million Australians
- that’s a number that just cannot be ignored. The survey
revealed the strength of Regional Newspapers was a reading
and advertising environment created by the strong link between
the newspaper and its community. That’s why is makes
sense to communicate through SA Country Newspapers.
